How each task is decided

  • Routine: test chlorine and pH twice a week (in communities of more than 30 homes, two checks a day, as Madrid Decree 99/2024 requires), empty baskets and, at the weekend, brush and check the pressure gauge.
  • Heat (32 °C or more) or very strong sun (UV 8 or more): test chlorine in the afternoon and filter longer.
  • Rain (5 mm or more) or thunderstorm: cover if you can and, next day, baskets, chlorine, pH and, if mud got in, backwash.
  • Wind (gusts of 50 km/h or more): secure the cover and clean up the next day.
  • Frost (1 °C or less): watch out for standing water in pipes and equipment.
  • Salt chlorinator in the cold: with water below about 15 °C it makes much less chlorine.

These are guidance alerts based on the Open-Meteo forecast, which can change: check again mid-week. The thresholds and advice are the same as in our guides.
