What it does exactly
It reads the text in the photo on your own phone and looks for three things: what the product is (trichlor, dichlor, hypochlorite, pH reducer, algaecide…), its strength (for example "available chlorine 90 %") and the dose the manufacturer gives (for example "20 g per 10 m³"). Then it scales it to your pool volume.
For chlorine, calcium, stabiliser and alkalinity it also does the direct maths: 1 ppm in 1 m³ of water is 1 gram of pure product, so raising chlorine by 1 ppm in 50 m³ with 90 % trichlor takes about 56 g.
Product labels in Spain are in Spanish, so the reader is set up for Spanish text.
For a good reading
- Good light, no flash and no glare on the plastic.
- Keep the label as flat as possible and filling most of the photo.
- If something is read wrong, fix it by hand: the result updates instantly.
Safety first
Never mix products, not even in the skimmer. Trichlor and calcium hypochlorite together can react violently. Always add product to water, not the other way round, and store them apart, dry and out of the sun. See our guide on storing pool chemicals safely.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it not match what the tub says?
Labels usually give a maintenance dose "per 10 m³ per week". Raising from one level to another is a different calculation: it depends on what you have now. We show both so you can choose.
Can I use household bleach?
Only bleach suitable for disinfecting water, with no detergents or perfume, bearing in mind it is usually weaker than pool liquid chlorine. Pool-grade hypochlorite is better.
Is the photo stored anywhere?
No. The photo is processed on your phone and disappears when you close the page.
